Hope on the Saddest of Days

On this the saddest of days, I think of all the children born on 9/11, and every 9/11 since, and they give me hope. Tonight we’ll talk, laugh, think, connect because we can and we should. Being alive is no disrespect to the friends, colleagues, acquaintance I knew, and the thousands I did not know, who were murdered on September 11, 2001

Girls Killing It! Mo's Thoughts on Women in Comedy

If you follow my blog, FB, Twitter, then you know how heart and mind-opening my experience was performing at the First Johannesburg International Comedy Festival in November.

MO Goes! to So. Africa

I just returned from five days in South Africa at the Johannesburg International Comedy Festival (#JICF). GLAMOUR AT THE SH-T MOTEL

A gig in Monterey. I know. “Maureen, you’re living the dream,” you’re saying aloud into your latte. Well, it ain’t all glitter and glue guns my friends (I’m not a fan of either).

I was paid in pie. $60 bucks and pie. The pie was a surprise. A modern day twist on Oliver and Antoinette...

No Photoshop for this chick!

As much as I love performing on-stage, it is the human connection off-stage that has a lasting impact on me. Take Patricia Dolloff. I don't know her well. I met her on the beach in Nantucket with her young daughter when I was in town to perform.

Mo Stops Traffic

There’s a sign in the UK for “Elderly Crossing.” The first time I saw it it cracked me up - two calcium deficient older folks trying to make their way across the road. The UK isn’t known for its abundance of vitamin D.

Mo Goes to South Africa

A number of years ago, maybe eight, I get a call on a Monday that I am to fly to Cape Town, South Africa the next day to shoot a Food Network commercial.
